The Giuseppe Chiari International Award for Coatings Sciences is a prize promoted by CoRI, a Belgian non-profit organization aimed to encourage research in the paint, varnish and coatings industry.
This prize will be awarded every two years to pre-doctoral students, doctoral students and post doctoral researchers who are involved in a university.
UNIEP supports this initiative through the partecipation in the Chiari International Award jury.
The winner of the first edition, for the period from 2014 to 2015, is Cédric Marien, PhD student at the Institut de Chimie et Procédés pour l’Energie, l’Environnement et la Santé (ICPEES-UMR 7515) IUT-ME –Dept Chimie- UNIVERSITE DE LORRAINE Equipe ‘Photocatalyse et Photoconversion’ at the University of Strasbourg, Antenne de Saint-Avold, France.
In the first quarter of 2016 the new Giuseppe Chiari International Award has launched and it focuses on the circular economy “On the road to the circular economy: Development of innovative coatings”.
The scope of the current call 2016-2017 is to contribute to recycle materials, improve durability of coatings and develop new manufacturing process and use.
The proclamation will be held in October 2017.
