History
On 23rd October 1953, in Paris, eight countries represented by ten associations gathered to form UNIEP (the International Union of Painting Contractors).
Since that time UNIEP has successfully lobbied to reduce VAT rates, fight against youth unemployment, engage with the European Commission over VOC levels in paint and many other issues to provide the only international voice for professional painters.
UNIEP is member of SMEunited, the European umbrella organisation representing SMEs at European level. SMEunited participates in the European Social Dialogue on behalf of employers.
UNIEP is member of Construction 2050 Alliance, including 47 European Associations in the Construction sector.
UNIEP is registered in the Transparency Register of the European Parliament and Commission to proactively demonstrate openness and accountability in how it conducts its affairs.
